The French Institute of Science and Technology for Transport, Development and Networks (IFSTTAR) is a Public Institution of a Scientific and Technical Nature playing a major role in the fields of urban engineering, civil engineering and construction materials, natural hazards, and the transportation of persons and goods. It investigates uses and impacts of systems or mode of transport from the technical, economic, social, health, energy, environmental and human points of view.
IFSTTAR will participate through its Vehicle-Infrastructure-Driver interactions laboratory (LIVIC), established in 1999 with the goal of working on the development and evaluation of driver assistance systems. The laboratory is specialized in automatics, signal processing, statistics and driver assistance systems design. In 2006 it initiated new studies on ecodriving behavior evaluation, implementing and testing ecodriving assistance systems at the European and French scale.
In GamECAR, IFSTTAR will lead the test campaigns that will take place in 3 different sites in FRANCE, UK and SPAIN. In the first half of the project, they will be used to ground the model with experimental data; in the second half of the project, they will serve both model optimization and validation purposes.
